My baby beardie doesn’t move around much in her enclosure

Hi have a 4 and a half month only beardie, he doesn’t love around his enclosure much and just lays on his branch. He does eat a couple crickets but not as much as I’ve heard other baby’s eat. He does look at me when I approach the enclosure but won’t move, even if I’m not there. He will just lay in the same spot for hours. We have a uvb and a heat lamp for him. He doesn’t eat his greens at all. When I take him out he will just close his eyes or if I try put him on me again he will just sit there and do nothing, and close his eyes. It is also summer here and I’m not really sure what I should do..

if you wanted an animal that moves, maybe you shouldn't have gotten a beardie, they're pretty much glorified pet rocks. But if it seems serious, consider the vet!

I don’t mind weather he moves or not I just wanted to make sure he was okay and others advice and input. I’ve seen many baby’s moving around and all that so I was just a little worried

yeah I would say it depends a lot on personality, some move, some dont, he seems pretty normal according to this but a caretakers instinct might come into play, and maybe if he keeps it up and loses weight go to a vet, but maybe wait for some more replies! hope this helps!

Can you go over your lighting and temperature? What uvb are you using (coil/tube, brand etc. ), what temperature is the basking spot and other side of the tank, and how are you taking the temperature (probe thermometer or stick ons)? Also what substrate is he on? The dimension of your tank, the distance from basking spot to uvb also matters. For a 4 months old he should be eating and generally moving around more. Pls go over these details it’s crucial for them.

Your dragon should be active and eating at least 20-30 crickets per feeding--- they will go thru relocation stress and not eat the amount I specified at first-- how long have you had him? Surface basking temps need to be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer 105-110 --- UVB a long tube fixture NO coils please - this is crucial --- this needs to be on par or he will not thrive ---

This helps so much! I do have a coil usb! I’ll change it the minute we get to the reptile shop. I’ve had him for about a week. He doesn’t eat 20-30 crickets per feeding. Only 4 or 5 and I will start talking basking temps with a digital probe! Thank you

The place I’m going has a reptisun one so that’s the one I’m going to get. We are also getting a 40’ gallon tank! Unfortunately the reptile shop that sells all this (they aren’t a pet shop, they are reptile specialists) aren’t open on the weekends so we are going to try and go on Monday! The minute I get everything I will post back here (hopefully I remember!) thank you for your help

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
