Diablo/Diabla
I'm am a brand new beardie mom that has had Diablo/Diabla for about 2 weeks now. They have adjusted so well, super friendly, comes to us when we put our hands in the tank, loves his soaks, active, and already prefers crickets to anything else offered.
Despite daily fresh offerings, he won't eat any greens, veggies or fruits. I have even tried Repashy's Pumpkin Pie (was told this is very desireable) I know babies eat mostly proteins due to how fast they grow, but shouldn't he at least want to try the other offerings? I even tried to forego a morning cricket feeding and put the greens in first and he looked at it, but refused to touch it.

Should I be concerned? How can I get him comfortable with other things?

Also, I got home our local Pet Sense, they said they offered only crickets and Spinach 😳

Ok please no more spinach-- here is a website for nutrition Nutrition Content
ignore the kale info its outdated---
lets go over the UVB your using is it a coil or a long tube fixture? How are you taking basking temps? Please no stickons a digital probe thermometer is the most accurate - you want two of them
surface basking temps should be 105-110 --
as far as getting them to eat salads can be challenging-- please get him some BSFL / also known as nutri grubs on this site www.dubiaroaches.com - you will need a bowl like this to keep them in it https://www.amazon.com/MACGOAL-Reptile-Ceramic-Leopard-Bearded/dp/B084VJJWTV?pf_rd_r=R0HNPKXJ2ZARWAT5MPAH&pf_rd_p=c5b6893a-24f2-4a59-9d4b-

use them as lures to get him to the bowl - drop them in front of him first thing in the morning feeding- do not dust them - feed as many as you want they are a great staple feeder and a good compliment to his main staple insect- I recommend getting him switched over to dubia roaches they are less hassle to take care of they are not escape artist and are more nutritional feeder -- order the size no bigger than the space between his eyes --- you can hand feed the nutri grubs that will start hand taming him
Please place a piece of clothing or a fleece blanket in his hide something w/ your scent on it so he learns to trust you -- patience and learning to trust is the issue here - it may take some time- but your surface basking temps and your UVB are the most important things in the tank -- we need to get them correct if they need to be corrected for him to acclimate to his surroundings and his tank

As long as your tank set up is correct then keep offering greens every day. I would do an insect feeding a little later in the day to make sure they have time check out their veggies. I would use BSFL as mentioned before to tempt them towards their salad. Also try to rotate your greens selection, mustard, collard and turnip greens are great, dandelion also if you have them locally. Add a couple fly larva to the salad and make sure they see it. They may mistakenly grab some greens and from then on its wash, rinse repeat. Our Pumpkin wouldn't touch greens, used this method and now she does greens available all day with up to 2 insect feedings. Best of luck!

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
