Questions of a soon to be a beardie owner

Hello everyone!

I usually avoid forums of any kind, as I usually get bad experience on them.

Although, since I'm gonna be a beardie momma.. what else can I do? :D

So.. my questions are:

Any specific basking temperature for a beardie of any age? (I need that in Celsius)

How to tame them?

What to feed them? How often?

Can you "potty" train them? If so, how?

How warm should their water bath be? (Celsius)

Can baby to juvi beardies eat mealworms?
(I am scared of crickets, and hoppers [to death lol])

Or should I be getting small dubia roaches?

If any new questions arise, I'll ask here ^^

Thank you! :)

Awww finally we get to see your little one! She’s so cute ☺️ the enclosure looks good!
Thank you :)
Took a bit to set it up, specially I had to build it myself. She shed today, there is still a bit of it left on her right foot. Then just her head and tail left to go. How do I check for nose trumpets? Gave her banana cubes, she refused to eat them as well. She ate a lot of dubias today, and she pooped.

Just search for nose shed bearded dragon if you’re not sure, I promise you’ll notice them when it’s time to shed lol! Normally you don’t have to help nose shed either just let it come off. Have you tried offering her leafy greens? Small pieces of greens might interest her more. You can also put silkworms on top of the salad to intrigue her. Cucumber and banana aren’t exactly the healthiest food for her. Ok for an occasional treat.

The tank is awesome. I’m sure she’ll love it and thrive 😄

Thank you once more 🙂

Banana and cucumber is all I had to offer. I am going to buy her leafy greens.

She pooped today for the second time, I had to wash her from it cause she got it on herself.................. Is it normal for her to have the runs? Not like the normal sausage shaped poop.

Yeah they do have weird poop here and there, but as long as it's not a constant thing then it's fine. You can get collard greens, mustard greens, kale, endive, arugula, turnip greens, cilantro, bell pepper, squash, all kinds of options. Just no spinach, avocado, rhubarb, swiss chard, or any citrus fruits.

I hope her poop is not gonna be constant, but I mean she just changed her diet etc.

I got wild rocket for her today.

I attached photos of her second poop today. It was dry, so not very recent. She just finished rest of her crickets, and gave her some cut up rocket. She ate one whole leaf, and that is it. I showed her her bowl of the cut up rocket, and she backed away looking at me. What does that even mean? 🤣
I took everything out of her tank to clean her floor. She surfed. Twice. Fair enough, I had to clean.

How long before you took the pic of the poop? The poop looks a little dried out--- they urate looks ok -- you want poops that are formed dark and moist -- urate white formed and moist --- rinse the greens before serving that will give extra water ---

I rinse greens. The poop is old, she pooped while I was at work. So I took the pic when I came back home.

Your setup looks really good, your beardie is a cutie to. Keep offering greens daily, but protein is going to be the main course till she is nearly grown, but if you can get them eating greens as a baby your leaps and bounds ahead of the game.
As far a sexing, it can be extremely difficult on babies, males can develop hemipens late and cause them to be sexed incorrectly. I'll attach a pic of candlelighting. A word of advice though, be careful not to burn her with the light, those little L.E.D's can get hot.

Thank you! I really worked hard on the set up.
She eats a bit of her greens from my hand, but then she stops to look at me.
When can they be sexed correctly?
I am a bit scared since I heard that female beardies can produce eggs (infertile though) without a male, and what scares me the most is that they can go egg bound and die.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
