Sorry if its not the right category, just got my other beardie back after my family did the minimum, is this ok for one to bob the head at the other or should i make it to where they cant see each other. i think Julian is trying to mate but also might be trying to fight and I don't want him to stress the smaller one (ricky) out.
EDIT: Tank setup for smaller one is temporary, we are about to finally setup tile :) it is a ceramic desert stone looking tile, I could not find slate.
EDIT #2: Looks like they are trying to maybe fight each other now or something, I will not be having them both out at the same time I dont think
EDIT #3 Got her new tank and the ceramic tile, little rough but mostly smooth.

they should not be able to see each other. they are solitary creatures that are territorial. seeing each other is only going to stress them out.

Not good ---- please get them out of view of each other - the stone tile may be too abrasive and cause abrasions on the dragons stomach and feet- you want something w/ texture not coarse and something that's not smooth- rub your hand over the tile

If I had any space I'd split them up, but not going to happen more than likely, if this is a make or break we could rehome but with how she (the smaller one) was treated before I'd say being near Julian (big guy) shouldn't matter too much

Your dragons are going to constantly be stressed out- please turn the tanks so they can't see each other or cover the places where the can - neither will thrive w/ them seeing one another and they will get sick - please go over your uvb - are you using long tube fixtures in your tank or coils - this will effect the over all health of the dragons - surface basking temps as well- I am only trying to help here-

I understand you trying to help, I've been working on getting tube lights, but like I said before I feel for them but I truly have no where for them to go and could give the other away if someone ends up wanting her, but the tank we just got for her was expensive because of it being the kind that opens, I do understand the importance of the tube lights but for now my UVB is from bulb and the other bulb is basking.

Bulb in a dome? If that's what your using they are terrible uvb's and will cause all kinds of illnesses - if not changed eventually death- I would recommend you re-home the other dragon to some one who's experienced and will give correct lighting- surface basking temps should be taken w/ digital probe thermometers - they are the most accurate - then I would work on getting your oldest dragon the correct lighting he needs or he will end up sick

DEATH? I'm sorry to god and my beardies but I think they'll be ok until I can afford the right ones, people been using a lot worse for 30 years. We might tint one of the tanks and get the right lights but like I said before, we are iffy about rehoming again, we had the smaller one originally.

We’re only trying to help you here- please try and move their cages away from each other, they’ll get really stressed out, which could kill them eventually. KarrieRee is our lighting expert here, please trust her. If you can’t get the correct lighting, please rehome at least one of them, if not both. Just because that people have used worse before, does not mean you can’t give your dragons the right care.

It will get better for them, I am just saying I am pretty sure they will be fine for now.

They are not going to be okay for now, it’s urgent to move their cages apart and get them the correct UVB. If you don’t give them correct lighting, they’ll end up with Metabolic Bone Disease and that alone can cause devastating effects, not mentioning that they might die from the stress of being so close to each other.

Even if they were living together before, their cages need to be separated so that they can’t see each other at all, from any angle.

With the light bars I see posts all the time about how their beardie jumped and broke it, If the bars werent 100+ dollars and didnt have to be jimmy rigged inside of a tank I might do it, still might do it just to be safe but too broke for now.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
