Hello today I noticed a small brown spot on my 1 & 1/2 year old bearded dragon Nugget. Any other owners every notice something similar on their beardie? Ive already had to treat her for necrosis of the toes & tail from her time in petco, could it have come back again?
Is this a minor injury or should I take her to the vet for further treatment and antibiotics? If you have any info please let me know

Hello!

It doesn't appear fungal to me but it does have some odd discoloration on the scale area & the skin
around it. How long has it looked like this? Has Nugget shed in that area recently or not?
Initially you can try putting some raw unpasteurized honey or silver gel on it, to see if that clears it up.
It could be just pigmentation changes or bacteria trapped underneath of the scales from a retained
scale previously. If those don't appear to help then you can try some anti-fungal cream to put on it,
just in case it could be the start of a fungal issue.
Is there anything in the tank she could have scraped it on?

Hello Tracie,
Thanks for your reply. I went away for a week and had my mother taking care of Nugget. When I got home there was a large dubia still alive in the tank that could of bit her. (I instructed to not leave live bugs in the care but I’m afraid my instruction was ignored)
I’m afraid it can be an infected bite or something similar. I first noticed it 3 days ago and it still here today, Ill attach a picture.
I’m going to try the honey today and see if it helps.

I don't think they bite either it's the crickets you need to worry about

Hello,

It doesn't look like it has changed much, or has it that you can tell?
You could go ahead & try some raw unpasteurized honey on it, in case there is some infection
brewing from a bite. I am not sure if dubia bite either. As Karrie suggested, crickets are terrible
culprits of bite injuries, they have been known to chew holes in them, eye lids & nibble toes or even
fingers off or mangle them!

Hello,
Thanks for the responses. I’m afraid I took nugget out of her tank to run around today and noticed the discoloration seems to be spreading? Shes showing no behavioral symptoms and seems active and alert. I think im going to take her to the vet

Hello,

Yes, that would be a good idea. Not sure what could be going on, but the discoloration doesn't
look normal. Can you start putting some anti-fungal cream on that area while waiting to get her
to a vet?
I'm glad that she is active right now, that is a great sign.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
