It's too early to be stressed!

So like clockwork, Rocky wakes up and I put him in his enclosure to start his daily basking. I moved the lighting yesterday and this morning it would not cut on. It's the UVB bulb. I have 3 additional back up bulbs, no problem, until NONE OF THEM WORK. What in the world? Okay, don't panic. Rocky now sees his basking light on so at any moment I know that he's going to want to get in.
I take a moment, I put him in and calm myself down. I check the plugs....3 plugs later....nothing.
No store is open as it's 5am. Rocky is looking up like, "Something isn't right"- I'm saying, "I knowwwwwwwwwwwwwww!"
I lightly turn the bulb, flip it, I didn't know what was happening.
After a miraculous moment - it worked! Okay, now I have to take Rocky out of his enclosure, I put him back in his bed, he is running around the bed trying to get to his enclosure- I'm saying, "get back."
I don't know what happened, but I am so grateful things worked out!

My lesson- as many bulbs as I have, I was not prepared if my fixture went out! It's always something

CooperDragon uses MVB for outside the tank-- take Rocky outside for good UVB -- 15 min -30 would be good- do that everyday or other and he will be fine ---

No @KarrieRee I try, I try, I try. It's no secret Rocky runs me. I take him outside but I have to do something like run to put something in the car, take the trash out, run across the parking lot into the store- the sitting in the sun/shade for 15 minutes has been a fail thus far.
I took him for a walk on Tuesday (how did I forget to post)- Rocky ended up scratching me at every bird chirp and there were many birds. I felt horrible as I could imagine that he thought he was going to get attacked. Although the birds were 900 feet in the air. The total walk was 15 minutes so it counts but I'm traumatized.

I try to take him outside to sit- Rocky politely excuses himself right back into the house. He doesn't free roam outside, I have to hold him in my lap and he it's right UNDER my shoulder to the door behind me.

We get about 6 minutes daily of natural sun (holds head in shame but it's Rocky's fault)- he's a baby so I figured I would give him another month before I push him harder?

He may be a indoor beardie only--- my one doesnt like it outside at all --- the birds scare him so I dont even bother --- well do what you can --- if the one fixture is working and you have ordered another one now correct?

I see they have some sales going on...that must be a sign. I really need to stop spending money on Rocky and letting him rule my life. What Rocky needs and wants, Rocky gets. BTW he totally left me again...he's asleep in his enclosure. It's party time!!!Have a great weekend everyone!

The solar meter came...we are okay for now. I had to scoot Rocky's basking lamp over closer to the UVB about an inch but we are all good.
I can't find the sun and I had to show Rocky the zeros as he still thinks he's getting uvb through the glass but he isn't...he just appreciates the light.

My street is very quiet so if 5 cars drive down my block a day outside those of us who reside here, that's rare. So when Rocky stands in attention several times a day, I run to the window only to see blowing leaves across the street. Actually, it's my neighbor's hedges so I don't even know if that counts as we know how much movement that is LOL. And silly me, Rocky gets me every time. I'm like, "Really Rocky?!" He's probably thinking, "You're the fool because you keep falling for it!"

we're right on the only road through town. but even one car is good enough in his book! there was a car show in town this weekend so he got to see some SWEET rides! (pretty sure my daughter was WAY more excited for those than he was. she's been a gear head since about age 3.)

Well Rocky is on the floor where his basking area WAS. We know beardies don't like change. I put a small hide there and he's on top of it vs the original one closer to the UVB bulb and basking light. I am going to wait this out.
Rocky is so far in the corner and low...the solar meter reads 1. Don't worry, I won't be annoying with this solar meter, I am annoying you with everything else.

I put Rocky in the basking area about 30 minutes after this post and he was fine. I was in/out the room and he stayed there. It's funny, as he is older and more active, it's odd to see him in different areas of the enclosure. He runs up and down the ramp...he runs and looks TOWARDS the window and runs back to his basking area. Rocky is getting familiar with the ramp again as I moved it. The light (blaming it on it) caused Rocky not to want to hug me. When I say hug, he is on my chest and I say "hug" and rub his back. Rocky will close his eyes if he doesn't want me to do it so I don't get it out of the enclosure. This time, he let me take him "hug" him then he ran off. Our hugs are usually about 2 minutes. Rocky said, "Not today!"
