Feeding

We have a rankins who is now almost 4 months old. We are still feeding crickets (as many as he’ll eat), twice a day with fresh veg and mealworms offered in between. How old does he need to be to reduce his feeding to once a day?
Sometimes he eats kids at both sittings, sometimes he hardly eats a thing but we just go with it. For convenience it would be nice to get to the point where we can feed him just once a day.
Advice appreciated.

Usually about 6 months old I am thinking -- it just depends on how much he eats in the morning- if hes eating a lot he wont want the second feeding or eat very little - I had Blaze at 2-3 months old and was feeding him salads w/ BSFL on top w/ 1-3 super worms - I also fed silk worms and dubias as the main staple insect- the silk worms were fed when I had them - but his main diet was salad super worms and dubias and BSFL - I fed around 25-30 BSFL every day along w/ the dubias and added the super worms every other day or so - w/ all that he really didnt want the second feeding but was offered till he was around 6 months or so - he may have stopped before then - if hes stopping and not eating the second feeding I would still offer but its up to you - is he eating the salads? You can put him over on dubias they are better nutrition wise and a cleaner feeder --

Sorry to sound a bit dim but what are BSFL’s?
He is offered salad daily and perhaps takes a little but it’s hard to tell. He eats 6-8 mealworms and these are well loaded and we try to pick the best ones which have recently shed. We offer her crickets or locusts twice a day, he always tends to eat more in the afternoon or evening. In the morning he will sometimes only eat 2 or 3 but in the afternoon / evening he’ll eat anything from 8-20. He’s still too small for the dubais we can source so he’ll have to wait for those. I just wondered if we could save his big main cricket / locust fees for the afternoon as he seems much less interested in the morning? But I don’t want him then to just rely on the mealworms as I know they are generally less nutritious.

Oh! Not heard of those before, I might take a look. We really struggle with the crickets and locusts. I’m hoping we can get him onto the dubais when he’s older. I’ll ask our pet shop who supply all our bugs about BSFL’s. Thanks

Please start ordering on line --- pet shops are very expensive
www.dubiaroaches.com
www.symtonbsf.com order large
your dragon can eat dubias now --- go by the chart on the website - feed insects no bigger than the space between his eyes

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
