Is this common when shedding?

Hi all. this is a fabulous forum. I have learned so much that I though I would join. Question.. My family and I recently adopted a 10-year old beard (he may be a tick older). We love him so much and are happy to have him. As a new beard mom, I have a question regarding shedding. Is it common that they are less active when they are in the process of shedding? Mako is eating normally but have noticed that he isn't as active.

Yeah, that’s pretty normal! Don’t be surprised if he loses his appetite during the process.

Yup, could be stand offish as well. Please don't try to assist him with the shed. At most give him a luke warm soak for a few minutes. Be careful not to get the water above his shoulders, they can aspirate and/drown. They use the same muscle group for walking and breating they can't do both at once. So if they are forced to swim or are frightened they can drown very quickly.

I just learned of it a bit back and it made me think back on baths and i realized i probably dodged a bunch of bullets. Now i try to mention it anytime I'm talking about bath time, just trying to make it common knowledge so we all avoid accidents.
