My 1 almost 2 year old bearded dragon hasn't eaten since thursday and is always sleeping and laying down in the cold side of her tank. Ever since i started feeding her less bugs and more greens she hasn't eaten everyday. And if she eats she only has like 3 pieces of greens. I've tried multiple different kinds of greens like collard, kale, spinach and even lettuce(which i know isn't good for them but i just wanted to try to get something in her stomach. Sometimes i feel like she goes weeks without eating. I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be going on or what to do?

This same thing happened to mine but we have male, they don't have to eat the same amount daily but we do worry wen they change their eating habits.. Female u say so I think she could be laying eggs but I'm not totally sure. But you say she is eating a bit so at least she is eating summit. Also calcium and electrolyte are supplements they need to thrive and move around

What does her lighting situation look like currently? What bugs do you feed her? How big is your current tank?

umm, for heat i use a thrive 100 watt basking bulb. then, for uvb i’m using a 10.0 reptisun 13 watt bulb. although, i was told that those bulbs do nothing so i need to change it.
do you know if the thrive 26 watt is any better? only asking because i have that one on hand. but for feeding, i give her mealworms and sometimes crickets. but she does like to eat the mealworms when they turn into beetles. and her tanks is a 50 gallon.

Please no coils at all you need a long tube fixture - I can post good uvb websites for you if you want me to

I recommend getting a MyComfyPet light, its pretty cheap and provides UVA, UVB, and heat. Switch your feeders to dubias and black soldier fly larvae for more nutrients, tank size is good.

If you need, sometimes blending up their veggies helps or adding bee pollen. I have a couple of slurry recipes I can share I give my own stubborn boy 🙂

ok, i’ll look into those things. i have a mealworm farm type thing full of mealworms though. so, are mealworms not good to feed bearded dragons?

Your dragon is old enough that mealworms aren't really an impaction risk, although without proper lighting they still could be. They really don't have the proper nutrition to be a staple feeder though and should be used as a treat. Superworms are better, dubias, bsfl, silkworms are better still. Variety is key. I usually have one or two staples at a time that rotate, usually dubia and/or silkworms, and then a treat or two, usually hornworms and/or superworms.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
