What is the humidity in the tank? Please get a digital probe hygrometer- place on the back center wall of the tank - optimal humidity is 40-50% nothing under 20 and over 70%
For your 20 gallon tank the best UVB is this one it will come w/a 5.0 bulb so you can use that on it till he goes to a bigger tank then you would need to change out the bulb I will post both of what you need a 24" fixture Zoo Med ReptiSun T5 HO Hood
22" Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 UVB T5 HO
2 of these Zoo Med Digital Thermometer
Nutrition Content its great he love kale that is a good staple feeder
when you get the UVB please post on here and I will help you set it up - the 5.0 bulb will need to be so its unobstructed from the screen - so I will help you get it placed on the tank
That’s the scary part at night it could be that I still have analog but it goes all the way to 100 by the time I wake up I was looking into the CHE because I’ve tried using the dehumidifier option on my ac unit it doesn’t drop I recently tried moisture absorbing nothing absorb I was going to get this ordered ( Eva dry ) and order two to place on each side but from what I read I know that high humidity is bad for respiratory so it makes me nervous each night so far the basket I made on Amazon v

That all looks good -- you wont need that dehumidifier if your hygrometer is reading over 70% -- please post on here when the UVB comes in -- I will need to help you place it for the tank --

Picked up one hygrometer from Home Depot until I order the others and the humidity level peaked at 73.

Ok the probe is going to be better --- is this one sitting on the floor of the tank? If it is it is getting a higher reading on the floor - --- and 73% is high - lets see what the probe says when you get it -but the 63% is fine --

So I new to the color changes but Is there like a chart to learn about it? View attachment 72903
Color changes?? I dont know what your talking about--- they will turn different colors when shedding - your getting a higher reading on the floor - the probe needs to be placed in the middle of the tank back wall center

This reminds me of the morning color if you will...so after being asleep all night and having no exposure to light- your beardie may be a little darker- the beardie will resume it's normal color within the hour if your lighting is correct.

When you take your beardie outside it may change color.

When your beardie is excited- it may change color- (gets bright - light)-
When you have a spoiled beardie like mine who doesn't get his way, he turns gray but brightens to the touch as soon as I give in.

Of you are in for so much- so many surprises beyond the black beard with it gets mad.

It's actually cute to me- you learn what each color means /associate it with behaviors. @Pat26_

Be very careful because color changes can be associated with health concerns - this is why you hear the responses about lighting- temperature. They are so very important!

They get darker when they need heat and light, but that can be a morning thing. Congrats on your new baby, adorable! Keep posting pics! Good luck, and you're in the right place if you need any help or have questions! Thanks for joining the team here so soon! Lots of great helpers here!

Something i didn't see mentioned also, but us just a fyi because your beardie is a baby. They "color phase" A.K.A. change color's as they mature also. With a beardie what you see is very much not always what you get. A dragon, well that looks like your baby for instance may be beige and orange or beige and yellow as an adult. Unless your lucky enough to see the parents you never really know for sure till you get there

Ok your dragon is trying to get to the UVB w/ him on that back wall - tells me hes not getting enough UVB please get a piece of basking decor another one besides the platform and place under it approx 8-10 inches -- your basking temps are what now? I see the 114 which is too hot and a 85 which is on the cool side? you want surface basking temps of 105-110 for him for now as he gets older he wont want that hot of a temp

Before I left for work the basking temp was 105 25 for humidity and cool side was 85 45 humidity but any recommendations on basking decor? And the lack of uvb may be because of the coil bulb that I had replaced it took some time to get the tube bulb in. But the starter kit came with that coil bulb I don’t get why they sell it if it’s not recommended or good for the beardies 🥲

Do you think temp switch would be needed to automatically switch the basking lamp on and off when it hits peak temps?

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
