9 month check in

Beardie name(s)

Smaug turned 9 months old a few days ago and i just wanted to make sure she is doing ok and she is healthy, she weighs 365g, is that too much??? She is around 40cm (head to tail) and I can’t tell if she’s small for her age there will be a picture down the bottom of her on my hand for comparison, she eats about 15 or so crickets a day and still won’t eat her salad, she has baths 1 a week, is that ok? She hates water and won’t drink it on her own, I tey and give it to her through a syringe which works sometimes but other times she thinks the water is going to kill her and every drop that goes on her face she will scrape her head along the ground. Lights are on at 8-8:30 and are off at around 10, is that ok she seems to wake up before I even put her light on so that’s why it goes on early, she has a reptile one spot basking light 150w and an Arcadia T5 bulb with d3 as her uvb light. I just wanted to make sure I’m doing everything right as she is my first beardy.

Picture of her size and her tank setup (sorry about the mess in her tank this was right before I cleaned it):

She looks pretty good in the pics. She is very pretty.
If she won't drink try mixing in just a little bit of none citrus fruit punch to give it flavor. That works with my dragons.

The distance for your UVB should be 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor - word of caution w/ the hammocks dragons have been known to get hurt by getting their nails snagged in them -- we have seen it lots of times on here - I see you have quite a few going in the tank - I would replace them w/ some cloth or fleece ones - www.etsy.com or www.pamperedbeardies.com are you using digital probe thermometers to get surface basking temps off the hammocks - that is the only accurate way for them

I did it that close because the uvb is on top of a the screen, is it still too close? And I am using digital thermometers on both sides of the tank, and thanks about the hammocks, when I get a bit more money I will keep that in mind!

Please show me the screen--- it needs to be a wide hole type of screen -- the fine mesh screen will block 30% of the rays - if its a wide hole it can sit on top so the distance would be 8-10 inches --- other wise I would look at getting it unobstructed --- its good your using hammocks for now as you can adjust the distance easier -- we have had people w/ permanent shelving that they cant move which is not good --

These are the best photos I could get, I was thinking about putting it in the tank but just never did because I didn’t know if it would be the right choice or not?

Its a wider hole type ---is it real thick tho? A heavier screen? If it is I would look at maybe unobstructing it or put it in the tank --- if you unobstruct it or put it in the tank distance should be 12-15 inches directly above your basking decor

It dosnt seem really thick but it isn’t bendable either if you know what I mean? Do you think it’s ok to keep it on top and if it is ok do you think the distance between the hammock and the uvb is ok?

As long as its not really thick it will hinder the rays getting thru- the distance needs to be 8-10 inches above - try that placement and watch his behavior - if he seems hes trying to get closer to the UVB then I would then unobstruct the UVB and have it so its open nothing in between

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
