Salad

I have posted about this before but I just wanted to ask again because it has been 2 months and she is now 9 months old, she won’t touch her salad, the only thing she will eat in the salad is the apple, she used to eat red capsicum, now I can’t get her to eat it for the life of me, I offer her something green, forget about it, I put it in front of her face and she actually runs away from it, I don’t know what to do, all other peoples beardies that I’ve seen have started eating salads at 5 and 6 months, I’ve tried everything, all the different types of greens that beardies can eat but she won’t touch any of them unless I force feed her which I hate to do, it’s getting really difficult and worrying, I don’t know if it’s just because she’s spoilt and stubborn or what, and i know that some of you are gonna say about bee Polin powder and stuff to sprinkle on top, but I can’t afford it at the moment cricket prices have just gone up a lot and running very tight on money, so does anyone have the same issue or anyone can suggest anything, should I even be worried?

It can be a constant struggle. At 9 months she is still growing, so protein is still the most important part of her diet. Gutload your bugs with the same stuff you want her to eat so she at least gets the undigested bits when she eats the bugs. And keep offering salads everyday. If it's still an issue when she gets to be about 18 months or two years and she is done growing, you can try more "extreme" things like no bugs until she eats her salad. Mine used to ignore his salad for days or even weeks, and then just suddenly have a day where he acted like greens were the best thing he'd ever tried, and then go back to ignoring them for days. He eventually came around and now eats his salad most days. I've read about beardies on here that took years before they were regularly eating their greens. If the rest of her care is good, and most importantly if she seems happy and healthy, you probably don't have anything to worry about at this point.

Ok thanks, I give her crickets once a day, and I think I’ve been gut loading them wrong so I will do what you said and put what salad I want her to eat with the crickets before I feed them to her, this is my first beardy so still kinda new to this. I’m doing the best I can with her care and think Im doing everything right ( picture of my setup on my profile If you wanna look at it) and thanks, I’ve been really stressed about her not eating her salad lately but now I know there’s nothing to worry about yet is a big relief for me!

It can be REALLY hard to get them to eat it. I have 3 beardies ages 4,3 ,and 1 they will take a swipe at greens once in a while at best. Other times all 3 have devoured them. I have had 5 total and its been the same story every time, you're not doing anything wwrong.Just keep trying.

Dubias all the way. We started with roaches and kingworms and the roaches we seldomly hunted and consumed. But the dubia roaches are a huge hit... our beardie (3 months) eats 5-7 a night and loves them
