Crickets dying

Don’t know what is going on with my crickets but lately they are all dying like super fast. Not sure that since it’s summer they just don’t last. It seems like in the winter I wasn’t having this problem. I buy crickets from Rainbow Mealworms but lately they have barely any stock all the time. This forces me to buy from Petco and they don’t even last overnight. We are putting in food for them as well to keep them alive but nothing is working. Any suggestions or does anyone have another place online where I can order crickets for a good price?? Any help is greatly appreciated!

To be honest I would switch to dubia roaches if you can -- they are easier to keep they dont die as quickly they are better nutritional wise -- www.dubiaroaches.com rainbow mealworms I will not do business w/ they ripped me off $50 a few years ago w/ some silk worms - you can try getting crickets if you dont want to switch from here LIVE INSECTS
I have never gotten insects from pangea but have bought a lot of supplies from them -
Live Crickets Farm - Order Online I get all my super worms from them and they are really nice

I’m on the east coast as well. I get my dubias from betterthancrickets.com. They are very reasonable price and shipping is fast. I placed an order Wednesday and got it today.

How old is your beardie? How many dubias do they eat per day? My beardie is around 8 months old.

Rango is 10 mo. old and the roaches have more nutritional value than the crickets. He eats twice a day but it typically I feed him until he closes his eye which means he is full and don’t want anymore. But in terms of number about 8-20 and he eat the large. He is 20” long. At 8mo depending on how big he is he probably should between med-xl size.

How many in bulk do you buy and how long do they last? Seriously thinking about switching to dubias. My Dexie is about 15 inches long. I was thinking of getting him the medium size ones. What do you think?? I read a medium Dubia is equivalent to like 5 crickets lol

I get 1000 roaches for about 50 bucks shipped to my door in 2 to 3 days from delicious dubias. I'd guess at 15 inches mediums to large would do. Each vendors sizes are slightly different so check how big they say their sizes are. The roaches should be about the size of the space between the eyes of your beardie. An average medium dubia of about 3/4 of an inch will easily be as large as 3 or 4 crickets plus it being more nutritional, I'd say 5 crickets per roach is similar is nutrition. As for lifespan and ease of care there isn't much easier then a dubia. They seems to last at least a couple weeks without food or water, give then food (dog food and left over beardie greens) and they will live on for a very very long time and will start to breed once they molt into adults. I put about 10 to 15 adult dubias in my bioactive tegu enclosure 3 years ago, there are still breeding roaches in their today and the tegus constantly hunt them. Most of the people that sale dubias also have a selection of other insects like nutrigrubs and hornworms, its always a good idea to get a couple different insects to go with your dubias. Dubias are the staple insects so they should be eating more dubia then any other bugs but variety is the key to a happy life.

Go by the chart on the website- hes going to eat more if they are too small -- and yes its something of that ratio to one dubia / cricket - I had heard that a while back as well but I really never fed crickets and when I did it was not long -- Blaze was 3 months he ate 10-15 dubias in the morning plus salad around 25 BSFL and 3 medium super worms- as he got older he phazed out of the second feeding - I offered sometimes he ate around 4-5 dubias and other times he ate nothing - I also fed silk worms as well and horn worms - those were fed when I had them on hand --

I have 2 bearded dragons. I buy 200 for my baby and 50-75 for Rango. The last order lasted over a Mo. They didn’t die and they don’t smell like crickets. I leave them in the vented containers they come in and add some of the greens they don’t eat for the roaches to feed off. And a lil bit of dubia dew to keep the roaches hydrated.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
