Rankins Squinting & head bumping

Hey! Was wondering if you guys have had any experience with this. He doesn’t squint all of the time especially when he’s looking around or eating, but if he’s just chilling then he’s squinting.
Are the lights too bright? Is he sick?
He also bumps his face on the glass, and only on that one side (I’ve included a video below). I’ve covered it up for his reflection just incase but he continues to do it.

He’s been eating pretty well; mostly greens and some protein everyday. I’m trying to get him in to see a vet just as a checkup on everything but they’re booking into mid to late June.

He’s around 13 months old. I got him from a reptile shop on May 23rd, 2022.

A lot of the time this is completely normal. There are some rare cases when there may be loose substrate in the eyes or shed? Is the rankin shedding? What lights are you running brightness is usually not an issue but what do you got running in there? Beautiful little dragon !!!

Hey! Thank you!! He doesn’t look to be shedding. I don’t have loose substrate, but it also could be excess that’s come off. (Switching it very soon) I have his UVB T8 10.0, 150W Basking light n a 75W basking light. It’s a glass tank so it’s hard to heat up.

How close is that t8 to the dragon? Yeah the sand carpet could contribute to the eye thing but a lot of the time they do it and there’s no warrant for concern. 😊

That’s why the T8 is not ideal friend because it has to go inside the enclosure and it has to be 6-8 inches or you will not get a UV index worthy of good health. I know most people are strapped these days but I would opt for a T5 if it’s possible. Until then I’ve used zip ties shoe string biodegradable garden twine and I really liked my double sided gorilla glue tape it holds up to 5 pounds but most people get worried when I say gorilla glue I swear to you it puts off no harmful chemicals ive used it for a long time but yes get the t8 inside. screen blocks 30% of uv rays no bueno

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
