I believe my dad’s bearded dragon has a URI. He doesn’t take me serious when I tell him my concerns, I do not work so I personally can’t take him to a vet, I’m not even sure if we have a vet near us. I was just wondering if there’s any way I can help him without going to the vet? Someway I can help with his bubble snot? He’s still active. But its been bugging me how he keeps opening his mouth and making clicking sounds. And I think he gulps a lot too.

Sounds like a RI if that's the case he needs a vet visit- one way of helping is having correct surface basking temps-- 95-100 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer- the probe needs to go on the spot where he basks- next a long tube uvb fixture-- please no coils they are inadequate for uvb rays - I can post links for you in the morning for those - what is the humidity in the tank? Any colored bulbs being used? You need a clear solid bright white basking bulb -

This week I’m going to try and help my aunt baby sit so I could earn some kind of money to get a better one with an accurate reading. Right now this is the bulb that’s being used Zoo Med Reptile Basking Spot Lamp | reptile Bulbs & Lamps | PetSmart we also do have the coil uvb. Can you forward the links?

place this on the center back wall of your tank optimal humidity is 40-50% nothing under 20 or over 70%
when you get the UVB please post back on here and I will help you set it up for your tank - the screen will determine where it goes along w/ distance
your basking bulb is good -- if you need a more reasonable basking bulb Flukers basking bulbs are good

The temperatures & humidity are very important for optimal health. If he isn't warm enough
for the majority of time, he can develop a respiratory infection from improper basking temperatures.
If you can find a way to keep him a little warmer overnight & properly measure the temperatures, it
can help to boost his immune system.
Do you know if he is eating very well?

He does eat crickets but veggies not so much. He’ll eat a few but not enough of it

Sorry I’ve been busy. Okay so I sent my dad the digital hydrometer but he walked into PetSmart and grabbed whatever he wanted even though I specifically told him everything else has bad reviews. Right now we have the thrive digital hydrometer and thermometer, I’m not sure how off the readings are. I did get a dehumidifier and I know it works since my lips end up getting all dry but I’m his tank for some reason the humidity rises. Right now I could see his bearded dragons breath when he exhales with the URI and I don’t know what to do about that. I did recently give him money I saved up for a nebulizer to try and help, the closest bet to us i a little over an hour away.

Also, I know it’s bad but I’ve got no money and he’s not my pet, Jay has a 10 gallon tank. I’m not sure if and when my dad will do the upgrade or if he’ll even listen to me when I say he needs a uvb strip light and not coil. :/

The 10 gallon tank is way to small for even a baby dragon - if he is not going to be responsible and take care of the dragon please rehome him --- hes killing the dragon -- the dragon is sick from improper UVB and basking temps and needs to be on a antibiotic for a RI ---
