Spending time at cool side of viv. Why?

My 8 year old male has chosen to spend most of the time on the opposite side of his viv, which is the cool side.
This is unusual for him. He’s eating/pooping as usual, except pooping in the viv. He has trained me to take him to a sink with water and then poops. He waits at the front nearest to the glass door. The last couple of months he just poops inside the viv.
All the temps/lights/uvb are correct and haven’t changed except the Reptisun 10.0 is changed every 6 months.
Is this behavior consistent with older age?
Thank you.

Sounds like it- your uvb is a long tube and inside the tank? Is it a T 5 or T 8

After he eats.
He spends more time (wherever he’s in his home 😊)
sleeping. It’s not brumating season. So is it a sign of older age? He certainly is living up to their name “lazy lizards”.
ok so its good hes basking after he eats - its when hes not basking after he eats - could be a sign of old age- I will have our vet tech mod on here look at your post she can give you more insight on him than I

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
