My beardie Sandy just turned 2 years old in January. Just tonight I found 1 infertile egg in her tank! We did not breed her, and this will be her first ever clutch of eggs. She has been glass surfing more than usual, is more hyper, and her tummy looks a little bit big. I'm afraid she'll die if we make one wrong step. Tomorrow we will get her a lay box using play sand and topsoil. Her diet will be switched to include a rich supply of calcium. Any suggestions? She is my first ever bearded dragon, so we will take all the help we can get. We are considering taking her to the vet if we have no luck after a while.

Edit: She laid an egg on her reptile carpet, so we are hoping she will not be picky with her digging substrate.

O.K, or you could add the sand to it but make sure whatever you use is damp all the way through to hold it's shape like cookie dough. Use the lid but cut a corner of it out so it turns into a cave.
Vet appointment is scheduled for tomorrow, I'll update you on what they say. Do you recommend spaying or is that dangerous?

The question is whether it's necessary. A vet would usually give a dragon Oxytocin to induce egg laying since the eggs are fully formed and one has already been laid. There may be other eggs way down in the oviduct right now waiting to be laid.

Oh, alright. I see, it probably wouldn't be necessary. She's become very skinny ever since she's been gravid:cry:Thanks a bunch for your help, you've been a lifesaver!

I'm no lifesaver but just trying to help. :) She shouldn't lose a lot of weight though, hopefully the vet will be helpful and figure out what needs to be done !
Thank you! Her stomach seems to have gotten bigger, I held her upside down yesterday and saw tons of lumps! But when I touch her stomach, I don't feel anything round or hard. What are the chances of eggs bursting, and what are the chances of reabsorbing the eggs?

Just came back from the vet, she is doing great, eggs just aren't formed yet! She's going back in a month to check up on her if she didn't lay her eggs. They also sent her home with some medicine as her tummy was in pain.

It's great she's laying eggs but do you know why she isn't laying them all at once? It's just unusual to lay them a few at a time. Is she laying them in a lay box or loose in the tank?

No... she has 2 different lay boxes and both with different substrates. Instead she just laid them loose in the tank, not sure why

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
