I recently got my beardie and have him in a 40 gallon breeder tank as its the biggest I could afford I know he should be in something bigger but I also know before I got him he lived in a 15 gallon tank (I know its one of the reasons I took him) and I'm worried if I put him in something bigger he might get overwhelmed I really just need advice if its ok for him to stay In the 40 gal breeder

For now you will want a bigger tank 75-120 eventually but you need to get him healthy - w/ him bring w/ out proper lighting for so long he's gonna have some health issues going on- I have asked some questions on the other thread

Mines was growing pretty fast. I do recommend a bigger tank and it shouldn’t become overwhelmed. For me Rango started glass surfing a lot because he didn’t have enough room in the 40 once he got to 18”. The cheapest 120g new tank I found was on Dubia.com and next was Wayfair which is where I was going to purchase mines. However. I started thinking about building one which you can do for under $100 and there are videos on YouTube. Other options I recommend is Facebook marketplace and Craigslist. Ultimately, I chose to build one from furniture so I started looking at dressers, buffet tables, and tv stands that had at least the 120 gallon dimensions of 48x24x24 on Facebook marketplace. I ended up finding a tv stand with dimensions a lil bit bigger than 120 and purchased it for under $75 (There is a pic of the final result on my profile). All we did was cut out holes to accommodate the lighting to be mounted inside. There are videos on YouTube as well about turning furniture into a tank.

40 gallon breeders are considered the minimum size for adult dragons. You can keep an adult in a 40g breeder it's whole life, I've done numerous times, but like mentioned, they do appreciate a larger space.

Note that 40g breeders are a different size than a standard 40g. 40g breeders measure 36x18x18

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
