Hi! My beardie Spike is just about a year old now. I’ve been noticing a lot of black on his teeth, which looks like old food or plaque. Is this normal? He is 100% normal, very energetic, eating normally, gums look healthy, etc. Here are some pictures. Don’t mind the blueberry stains on his mouth 😆.
I feed him collards daily, blueberries or other fruit once a week in his salad, squashes, bell peppers, etc. The bugs consist mostly of bsfl larvae and crickets when he is out of larvae. He eats dubias here and there but he’s not a huge fan! He gets calcium about 5 times a week and multivitamin 2 a week.
He doesn’t like me inspecting his mouth very much either so these are the best pictures I could get.

It's not unusual, but you might want to add more roaches or other hard shelled bugs to his diet now and then in order to help clean teeth and gums. The shells can act as an abrasive which can help loosen some of that buildup.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
