It’s been a while since I updated. Still isn’t much. Everyone asleep and we had a good thanksgiving nothing crazy. Dragons had turkey as they were awake for it. Broly seems to have an attitude if he’s not first lol. Jamie was first then Kane...you can imagine the frustration he had for me being slow. Now they’re all back asleep so it’s been quiet and also Christmas shopping...fun.

Not sure, maybe I just couldn’t navigate properly as it’s new. Thanks for looking into it though.
So I just checked on here to see if you had posted anything because I hadn't heard from you in a while. The new system didn't send me an email saying you had replied like it used to. I hope that's an oversight and that they've fixed it since then.

Wow! A bat. I've never seen one of those in person, although I've seen a lot of them on TV. (We just have mice in our house.) Glad to hear that it didn't cause any major problems worse than having to get shots. I recently got my covid booster and flu shot, and they don't hurt much for me either.

Glad to hear that your guys are doing ok. Puff is doing well also -- went for a long time without a poop but finally did it in the tank instead of in the bath. A pain to clean up after him when that happens. He hasn't been eating much lately so maybe that's why it's so long between poops. Not losing much weight though, so he's probably ok.

Hopefully we can still keep in touch. I guess I should check back on this website once in a while in case I don't get an email when you post something.

I guess I'll have to check back here once in a while, in case it's not going to send emails anymore. It's giving me hassles about logging in, too. Not too sure yet if this upgrade is an improvement.

Make sure you have a “watch” set on the upper right of the thread. I think many of the old thread “watches” were lost in migration. Not sure why, since many were still in place.

I think it may have to do with the long/older threads and that the migration may only have imported watches that were creates within some period of time. Frustrating. But in retrospect it’s hard to go and detect all of those and try to recreate them.

Also under your profile Preferences, double check that you default to being email notified of threads you start and participate in.

I don't get emails anymore when you post to this thread. I just get one that has a few selected posts from the site. I wish it would still send me an email when someone posts to a thread I've been following. (I hope that Beardie the site administrator is watching this thread -- maybe something can be done to put the email feature back the way it was.)

I hope all your beardies are doing well even if they're sleeping. Puff is still hanging in there -- not eating and not pooping a whole lot lately -- nothing in, nothing out. But not losing a lot of weight. He's getting a bath now and we'll weigh him today, then see if he's interested in eating anything. Lately many of the crickets die off before he gets around to eating a lot of them. That's pretty normal for crickets. Lately he's not into roaches, and they've gotten more expensive as well as the pet store being out of fresh ones most of the time. I'm not too happy about that because roaches are way more easy to deal with than crickets.

It's been terribly cold here lately -- subzero temperatures especially at night. But we're managing to keep ourselves and our beardie warm as well as pay the gas bills and the electric bills. That's winter in Alaska.

It’s still on my todo list to review all old watches and fix ones that didn’t seem to migrate properly.

Also, you can manually reset your watch.

I get emails about the thread. Broly’s up and head bobbing and black bearding. We have a winter storm coming through. High winds have passed now just heavy rain and flooding. We are safe!
We’re not safe from power outages as flooding on the roads and there’s always one person being reckless or careless and speeds through hitting a pole.
Anyway, not much going on. Saturday (Dec 11) we went to the mall after breakfast at a pancake place. Dragons were all chilling out. I got a couple shirts as my sizes were not available for a lot of shirts. I guess everyone else got them first. I just have four Slipknot shirts now LOL. My Chemical Romance is a band I loved back in 2005. It was great to find a shirt of theirs. Broly’s less active today thanks to the storm. I guess that’s about it.

So I tried to reply and it gave me some kind of hassle about logging in and my reply disappeared.

So as I was trying to say, glad your beardies are doing well. Puffie pooped in his tank yesterday, but I'll take it however I can get it at this point. He hadn't pooped in about two weeks and I was getting worried. I've noticed that when it's been a while he usually poops in his tank instead of in the bath. He's getting sloppy about it in his old age too. He used to go downstairs to do it (or do it in his bath) and then go back up on his basking platform where it was clean. This time he sat in it, and Daddy washed him off under the faucet. I don't think he liked that -- half a beard and a dirty look.

It's gotten a little "warmer" here lately, relatively speaking. "Up" in the 20s instead of subzero, and a little snow. A nice break. We've had really cold temperatures for about a month now until recently. We usually get that kind of weather in January.

Christmas shopping is crazy. My husband went to Costco for groceries yesterday and it was crowded -- hard to maintain social distance and half of the shoppers don't wear masks. But he managed to get home in a reasonable time and hopefully without any covid mutants -- he's good at wearing his mask. He got a new wool jacket for warmth. Nothing fancy -- just plaid.

Ready for Christmas? I don't think we are (can't believe the year's almost over) but at least my husband has a week off.

Nothing much to Xmas to be honest.

My Eagles are in the playoffs but they’re losing horribly to Cowboys. Im not surprised not losing too much from this game.

Broly’s up and the others are starting to wake up. We had two nasty windstorms. One KOd power for almost 20 hours and the other had our power blink.

Rain the hamster passed away on Saturday early morning. It’s so strange she was eating earlier that evening. Didn’t know she was gonna go down she wasn’t acting strange. She was 1.5 years old, left her all night in a warm room. Later that morning she had become stiff has a board. We’ll get another hamster next Sunday. We’re both getting boosters so likely won’t feel well tomorrow evening. So we won’t be getting our new hamster tomorrow.

I figure I’ll finally post since Im not too sad from her passing. Im sure it’ll hit later.

I did get a couple shirts, hoodie, 3 figurines so that’s about it. If you wanna know what exactly they are you can ask. Im too tired to list what they are right now.

We had a quiet Christmas too. "Big Christmas dinner" was microwave pasta and chicken from Costco. I just don't have the energy to do the big turkey dinner anymore. But my husband isn't picky, and he's always up for pasta.

The Packers are doing fairly decent this year, but I'll be surprised if they end up in the Super Bowl.

Puff is getting more and more klutzy the older he gets. This morning he tried to go "downstairs" to his hide and ended up flipping himself upside down. I had a heck of a time flipping him back over because I can barely reach the bottom of the tank. He's been doing that alot lately. I worry about him not being able to breathe if he does it when we're not around to help him, but at least I'm usually home.

Sorry to hear about Rain, but at least she seemed to be feeling well right up to the end, and didn't have a long illness.

We got our boosters a while back. My husband and I are both considered high risk, him because he has asthma and me because I'm fat. We didn't have any bad reactions, except for a big red lump on my arm for a few days. It didn't hurt -- just itchy. We got our flu shots at the same time, and I asked them to do one in one arm and one in the other, so I'm not sure which one flared up. At least I know it took.

It was still very cold (single digits mostly) up until the last couple of days. It's in the 20s and snowing today, and they're expecting the temperatures to go a little above freezing in the next couple of days. Going to make a sloppy mess for a while, but I'm at least glad it's "warming" up. Had to go to the dentist last week (routing cleaning) and I didn't like going out in the extreme cold. Should have made that appointment for the spring. That's Alaska, and like my husband says, it goes with the territory.

Hey,

Apparently Im too busy to come on much. I do make time sometimes. All 4 are up and yes 4 because my husband’s cousin’s dragon. They also live with us. I’ve been trying to occupy myself lately and making a bin cage because I can’t handle the bar chewing anymore. I get devil hamsters. Im joking she’s just doing her thing and wants out! Totally understand hamsters aren’t too domesticated yet.

Im also been paying off some bills. It also got warm so the flies are out...ew. I played a video game for a few hours. I keep my mind busy and keep depression at bay. I make arts and crafts. DIY toys for our hamster. Decorating the reptile room. You know same old stuff other than that.

Broly’s still ok except for the occasional muscle spasms in parts of the body. He’s pretty well other than that. It’s not MBD and the UVB isn’t too old yet and we’re about to change it. We think it’s something else that can mimic MBD. I forget the name but Tom knows. Tracie does too. Ive been talking to her. Tracie and Tom are usually on the same page. Everyone else is fine. I hope everything is ok on your end.

So I tried to post a message and got in trouble with the website. Going to try again. I don't know when anything gets posted to this thread until I get the "Here's what you missed" email and then I check. I don't think I like the new upgrades much. I liked it better the way it used to be.

One bearded dragon is enough for us. I don't think we could handle any more of them. Good luck with 4!

No flies around here yet -- probably not until May or so. Spring comes late around here, and winter starts early. We've had alternating "warm" and cold lately. When it warms up it usually snows. That sounds counterintuitive, but when it's clear and we lose our cloud blanket, it gets colder.

We got a new UVB tube for Puff but haven't gotten around to installing it. I had forgotten about it, so thanks for reminding me.

Puff is getting pretty decrepit. He seems to have trouble moving around lately. It's all he can do to climb the ramp to his basking platform, and he often flips himself upside down when he tries to go "downstairs." I have a hard time flipping him back over because I can barely reach the bottom of the tank -- too short and too fat. Puff's not doing too well about pooping in his bath lately either, but at least he's still eating and pooping and not losing too much weight. He'll be approximately 10 years old around April -- we don't know his age for sure because he was a rescue. Our vet says that beardies are getting pretty geriatric by the time their age gets into the double digits, but we hope we'll have him for at least a while longer.

@SHBailey

It’s possible the watch set was lost. If you scroll up to the top, do you have the option to say “watch”? Or does it say “Unwatch”? If it says “Watch”, then click that. It will set the watch so you get emails when there’s a new reply. Unfortunately, I don’t have a way to set watches for others.

I don't see anything that says "watch" at the top.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
