Hi Tracie,
Thank you for replying here too. I haven’t woken him up yet, but sleeping soundly.
Ok so can you get the distance inside the tank 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor? In the beginning when you set this up we had it top of screen 8-10 inches but we wanted to watch the behavior to see how he would react- try the inside of tank and see how he behaves-

Hello -
The entire tank itself from top to bottom is 12 inches. He doesn’t really bask on the decor, he usually chills on the floor near the basking light. With the uvb inside the tank it’s about 9-10 inches from the floor, about 6-7 inches from the decor - if he was to sit there.

The dimensions of the tank are 36x18x12

Ok the tank needs height for the T 5 - so sitting on the decor piece in the tank 6-7 inches is going to be too strong- if hes on the floor under it would be good - so is the UVB next to the basking light? If so he would be getting both I am thinking -

What is the basking temp on the floor where hes sitting? It needs to either 105-110 for his age but as he gets older hes gonna want temps not so hot like age 5-6 months old -- you want that temp w/ a digital probe thermometer please

Here is the set up now with the uvb inside the tank. Should I move it back outside? Will the mesh filter out the uvb rays too much if it’s on top? That would be about 12 inches away from the floor. He doesn’t go onto the basking log much at all, he generally stays on the floor.
Also, as Tracie suggested, he might have too much D3 from the high output uvb along with the supplement. Should I even be turning the uvb on?

I was debating on that one -- I am gonna say yes so he can absorb it - I am trying to figure this out - your screen will block some of the strength of the UVB and the height of the tank is throwing me off for distance - I am gonna get some help w/ this

Where he is sitting now it was only 95. I moved the basking light over the top of him and now it’s about in the right range. He’s not moving much this morning, think he’s still dizzy.

Great. Thanks so much for your help!
I still have the 5.0 bulb if it would help putting it in place of the 10.0 on the inside of the tank I can certainly do that too.

That is a thought then you would need distance of 6-8 inches so a piece of decor would need to go under it to bring the distance correct for him - lets see what others say

Hello,

I posted on your other thread too.
How is he doing tonight?

Tracie
Update!
Norbert is doing much better. He is still pretty wobbly and having a tough time catching his bugs, but he caught 20 today! (With a little help from me) he is moving around better, still a little off balance but nowhere near as bad as yesterday. One thing I did notice was the urate today was tinted orange, is that a sign of too much calcium/d3? He is turning his nose up at the parsley, mint and cilantro, but I will keep trying.
Will continue to hold off on the calcium and d3!
Thanks again for the advice!

Anybody able to weigh in on this? He did ok yesterday, but today he is back to being off balance and falling over. Should I switch the uvb to 5.0 or put the 10.0 back outside the tank?
Any help would be appreciated
