Type of rock for climbing

I have a large quartz rock that I would like my Dragon to climb on. Is this an appropriate rock considering it is not smooth. I have a basking area already for him

I think the only concern would be sharp edges? If there is any? And sounds like some crystals can explode if you boil it at least that’s what I read? If you wanted to sanitize it you may have to bake it at 225 for at least an hour?
