You can try that -- everything looks good so far just make sure your temps are in check - if its not that I am gonna say its the hormone thing -- Hiccup has been running his tank the last 2 weeks maybe --- so I have been bringing him out and he is calmer after wards so -- but I am used to him doing this -- its normal for him every Jan - Feb he gets like that
Sorry it's taking me so long to respond. I finally got the temp gun and her main basking spot (a stone) is about 91°F and her hammock, which is also on the hot side, is about 100°F. Along with the cool side of her tank which ranges from 75-80°F, i would say her temps are good. Im not really sure why she's doing it but she did calm down a bit today and finally eat some salad!! I would love anymore suggestions, and im feeling much more hopeful ;)

Is that 91 w/ the digital probe or the IR gun--- IR guns cant read off of hammocks - I would get the temp up to 95-100 for surface basking temps --

I really don't think her temps are low because I live in florida and right now it's blazing hot outside. Our house is about 76° on average. 91° was with the IR gun; the probe reads 93.5°. She rarely lays on her rock and basks, she's usually on her hammock where it's closer to her uvb tube. She has two heat sources in a dual dome; one is a 75w basking bulb and the other is a ceramic heater. I got the temps of the bulbs and they are both well over 250°. If anything, she might be hot!

But I will definitely still try suggestions, although she's calming down a bit which is great!! Maybe it's just horomones?? I'm really hoping it's not eggs/egg binding or anything like that!

Also she does sometimes open her mouth while basking and retreat to her cool side which is why I think she might be hot.

Ok the digital probe is the best way to get the temps they are more accurate
Yes it's actually reading a bit hotter today; around 95°. She's glass surfing a lot again what should I do?? I took her out for 10 mins but all she did was glass surf the walls and try to get back to her enclosure. I really want her to be happy and right now she seems miserable. She's starting to rub so hard she's getting her snout a little raw/pinkish. She's also not eating anything I offered her today including dried mealworms which are her favorite. Please help!!

Is she digging or just glass surfing -- her tank could be too small -- it could be hormones -- my oldest has been glass surfing alot as well if I get him out its for 2 hrs and then hes fine --- hes in a 120 gallon tank -- and he does this every year at this time -- it drives me crazy cuz where I am today its -12 - get her out for a longer period of time and see if it doesnt calm her down --

Currently she has a 40 gallon, which I know is small. I really don't have the room for something bigger unless I move her setup outside which is an option because I live in florida. I'll try to bring her out longer. When you bring her out, what do you do while you supervise her? Should I let her roam my room, which is pretty small, or let her roam someplace bigger? Thanks for the help!!

I put him in my LR on a chair in front of my LR window - he sits up there and looks out the window -- I will watch TV or in the kitchen as I can keep an eye on him there - then after sitting there for around an hr he will crawl down to the seat and take a nap behind the throw pillow on the chair - make sure your floors are picked up w/ stuff as they tend to eat stuff they should not --- make sure she cant get under stuff that you cant get her out like refrigerators low dressers to the floor etc

Oh I see. When I take my beardie out, she will frantically run around; even if I set her in front of my window she will run around my desk, frantically trying to get back to her enclosure. I will try our living room which is out of sight of her enclosure. Hopefully she will calm down sometime soon!! Maybe bringing her out will help. Thanks!

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
