Hello, My parents just got my sons beardies for Christmas, Leo, is about 5 months old and in this own setup right now. Lee is about 2 months old and in his own setup, problem is my parents also got a breadie who is in the tank with Lee the 2 months old, because they are on vacation until Monday ( the lady at the pet store said this was OK). They have been fine up until tonight during their last feeding. My parents beardie latched on the Lee and would not let go of his leg he was able to climb on top of this net and kind of chill out there, I do not have separate tank right now ( they are in a 40 gallon) as all pet stores are closed so I placed a cardboard divider in the tank until I can get to the store in the morning. We did notice Lee has a tiny speck of blood where he was bitten and I can tell by the way he was moving up the net he was sore. Will he be ok, was separating them with the cardboard the right thing to do?

If you have some raw honey you can dilute is 50/50 with warm water and dab it on the wound with a qtip. If you do this make certain that there are no crickets in the tank. You can also put neosporin (w/o pain medicine) on it, but the honey mix is better it has natural healing elements.
Do you have a tote you can put the aggressive dragon in? If so do so immediately. That dragon will stress the little one out and right now he doesn't need that.
Ps. Petsmart, Petco and any other chain pet stores are well known for giving BAD advice .

Thank you! I have some honey my dad actually is a bee keeper and we get our honey this way. So I assume this is the correct type? I did check them just now and they are sleeping I will look for an extra tote and if possible transfer him, If not the cardboard seems to be working, until I can get to the pet store first thing in the AM.

I can only imagine how that little guy feels!!!
I can't begin to tell you how wrong the people at that pet store are.
I know I feel so bad, and I am pretty sure if my parents didn't get the bad advice that they did they would've just brought over the tank they got for their's and kept them separate. I think it was aggressive behavior due to the feeding, but gosh this is the first time having beardies and they have such amazing personalities to know one might be hurt is disappointing.

Make sure you get a Clear bright white basking bulb and a digital probe thermometer- also your going to need a good uvb NO COILS -- do not listen to the people at the pet store anymore! The little guy needs surface basking temps 105-110 -place the probe on his spot where he's going to sit to get the temp 10 min--- a long tube fixture for the uvb -- NO THRIVE OR ZILLA fixtures please your gonna need a zoo med 18" reptisun 10.0 T 8 bulb for now those are good- others are junk- he's gonna need it placed directly above the basking decor 6-8 inches -- all this I have posted here is extremely important- he is now traumatized and he may not eat but keep up w/ the honey for now please post pic if him and his wound -

Thank you I will get the recommended items today and post a picture of this injury and what he has in his setup not. Right now is the standard ZooMed 40 Gallon tank setup. We plan on purchasing a bigger tank soon.

Ok please get the pics posted ASAP- I want the others to get a look at him --- but get your basking temps and UVB situated right away --- this is going to help him recover -- it is imperative -- please keep him hydrated and try feeding him - if he eats a little that is good -- I hope hes not so traumatized he wont eat -- how is he doing this morning --- please keep him out of view of the other dragon --- they cannot see each other period! If you for some reason can get another tank you can set him up in a 20 gallon tote like this

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
