Hi everyone I’m new here and I just want to make sure I’m doing everything right ive been told so many thing from so many different people and I don’t know who to believe so I’ve had my rankins dragon since the 21st of this month when I brought him home I knew he was going to be a bit skittish with it all being new and a different environment so at first he was climbing the walls scratching on the glass, not saying I just left him be i kept my distance but I honestly couldn’t leave the side of his tank I was petrified I was doing something wrong, he eventually calmed down and actually let me pet him just on the head a little, he’s still not eating any veg but I have been gut loading locusts as they are the cheapest where I live he eats as many as I can feed him in 10 mins which is usually between 15 morning and night feed but eats around just less or more for his middle feed just depending how he’s feeling ( he won’t touch crickets) and I’ve read that not many drink from water balls so I’ve make sure when I put veg in I rinse it and change often throughout the day I have misted his leave and he does lick them sometimes, he poops everyday since I’ve had him (yesterday decided to poo in his veg bowl) I think it looks alright but I just wanted to double check and he also hides under his basking log quite abit I’m just scared he’s missing out on to much light, he’s quite active and likes to have a look with what’s going on outside him tank.

He’s 3 months old, I use a UVB Arcadia t8 10%+ 36” 30w, basking light is a 150w I have that mounted inside with a cage obviously! His basking temp is usually around 38 degrees Celsius is not a tab higher sometimes cold side is between 20-30 degrees Celsius and humidity is between 30-40 I do need to get a temp gun to double check everything but I’m going off gauges for now I do have a dimming thermostat so I can control it easily!

And I need some advice on calcium power and how much to give him I bought a all in one multi-vit includes cal and D3 but then I’ve also got regular cal power( no phosphorus) and the cal with d3 I went all out which I no I didn’t have to im just struggling finding out the right amount to give him,

I will attach photos of my tank and the dragon and some of his stool just to double check, any advice would be very much appreciated and I do live in the UK

It sounds like you're off to a great start. He looks healthy in the photos and it's a good sign that he is active and eating well. Keep trying with the veges, but he may prefer the locusts for a while as he grows. You can try offering a variety of greens and veges. Squash (zucchini/summer squash among others) cut up or grated into worm shapes is usually popular and is very hydrating. The locusts can probably eat some as well. It will be good to have a temp gun to double check the surface temps. Keep up the good work and please keep us posted on his adventures =)

Hey! I was wondering how your little guy is doing! I got a Rankins a couple months ago and he still has stress lines and is very dark and all that. Did you do anything that you noticed worked well? Thank you!

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
