Hi, so my baby bearded dragon has a swollen part of her butt. it's pinkish and it's only on one side of her butt. I don't know what this is, and i need to know if she's ok. She has not had this before. Here are some pictures.
Could be impaction --- what are you feeding her -- insects and the size of the insect please post a pic of her head and the insect--- what kind of substrate and your basking temps what are they and how are you taking them and your UVB coil or a tube pleaseHi, so my baby bearded dragon has a swollen part of her butt. it's pinkish and it's only on one side of her butt. Ok so the basking temps need to be 95-100 for a 6 month - adult dragon -- babies 105-110 taken w/ a digital probe thermometerHer basking temperature is at 90 degrees Fahrenheit to measure them I use the Zilla humidity and temperature gauge. Here are some photos of her food to her head including the heat lamp I use, but she also eats Dubia roach which are basically the size of her head.
ok yes I would like links to the UVB, and alrighty I’ll test this out. The UVB I’m using currently is a ceramic infrared heat emitter. Thank you so much.Ok so the basking temps need to be 95-100 for a 6 month - adult dragon -- babies 105-110 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer
Zoo Med Reptile Terrarium Digital Thermometer | reptile Humidity & Temperature Control | PetSmart I would get 2 of them one for your basking side and one for the cool side -- the heat emitter is good for temps at nite if they are falling under 65 -- and not over 75--- you need this or similar to for basking Exo Terra® Intense Basking Spot Light | reptile Bulbs & Lamps | PetSmart this is a CLEAR bright white bulb I would start w/ a 100 watt and go from there -- make sure you place the probe on the spot where she / he basks --- 10 minutes or so get temp --- what are you using for a UVB -- size is good for roaches -- your dragon cannot digest the food w/ temps so low and you need the bright white bulb I posted ---- the UVB helps them digest the calcium your feeding / and synthesize the calcium as well --- please feed some canned pumpkin plain to your dragon to push the poop out make sure she/ he is hydrated this will help push things along as well but you MUST get your lighting in order --- if your using a coil for a UVB please replace it w/ a long tube fixture like a 24" fixture for a 40+ gallon tank - if you need links to the UVB please ask but this is a absolute MUST -- along w/ the basking bulb --- please get a digital probe hygrometer Exo Terra Digital Hygrometer place the probe on the back center wall of the tank --- optimal humidity is 40-50% nothing under 20 and nothing over 701% ---- if you need to get the UVB they do have certain placement and distance for it please post and I will help you
