I’ve only had my beardie for about a month, and I got him from a couple who got him for their son, and then of course expected a child to be able to take full care of him. He was only occasionally fed dubias, never fed greens/veggies, and always just had a bowl of dried mealworms in his tank. Now, I keep his food bowl filled with collard greens, shredded carrots and every so often tomatoes or cucumber. I also feed him dubias daily. But, he does not eat from his food bowl. The only way he will eat his salad is if i hand feed him the pieces. And the only way he will eat the roaches is if I place them right in front of him, one at a time. Is this normal? Is he just picky or spoiled?

Lazy---- make sure you have a good CLEAR bright white basking bulb that is keeping temps 95-100 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer for a juvie/ adult dragon --- babies 105-110 these are surface temps I am talking about not ambient --- a good UVB NO coils they are inadequate -- if you need more help please ask -- he will go thru relocation stress but you must have good temps and good UVB for him to acclimate to his tank and surroundings -- these things I posted are crucial to the overall health and behavior or the dragon -- please NO more tomatoes -- cucumber will give watery stools -- here is a website for nutrition ignore the kale thing its a good staple feeder Nutrition Content

Thank you that’s helpful! His basking temp stays at about 100 usually, I have a UVB tube light across the top backside of his enclosure. He is relatively active during the day, he runs around in his tank and sometimes will glass surf until I take him out to explore a bit. I will attach a photo with this thread, wondering if he looks healthy? I feed him often and let him get his exercise.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
