Probiotics and antibiotics

Hi all!! So my beardie recently got some antibiotics from the vet for his mouth (I was noticing signs of mouth rot) he has to take them for ten days, but it removes the good & bad bacteria in his gut so I feel like I should give him a probiotic such as acidophiliz (idk if I spelled the right at all bahahah) but has anyone had their beardie take this probiotic? If so, how much do I give him and how long? Thank you so much

I think the main thing is to offer plenty of hydration while on antibiotics. This can be in the form of water rich foods like squash, or by a water dish if they like to drink from those (not all of them do, and that's OK) or by dripping water on their nose to lick up.

You can certainly offer some probiotics as well. You probably don't need to offer much. Non dairy/soy yogurt contains probiotics that may be beneficial to them. I'd start with offering a little bit of that and see how it goes. I'd keep offering it for a few weeks after the course of antibiotics is complete.

Thank you so much for your reply! That’s very helpful I’m going to give him some probiotics once he’s finished with his antibiotics to kinda get his gut back on track do you think it’s safe to do it the day after he is done or should I wait a few days?
