Dino is 6 years old and I’ve had him the entire 6 years.

Last weekend is the last time he ate in his own which was a large Dubia Roach.

Last Saturday he woke up
White with black beard and tail and seemed lethargic. I bathed him and half him. I tried to give him his favorite food (hornworm) he didn’t eat. Did poop

His color came back on Sunday still lethargic. Gave him a bath, held, with lots of love

Monday
Took him to the ED EXOTIC PETS. They said left side of beard had a fluid filled sack. They drained it and said it was some sort of infection. yet gave me antibiotics and pain killers for 10 days.

I’ve been bathing him, medicating him with syringe, blended his favorite veggies and protein and som pedilite and feeding with syringe.

His left side is filled with fluid again and sometimes he keeps his left eye closed. I’m super sad and not sure what else to do.

We need Tracie to look at him ---she is the vet tech mod on here -- did the vet say anything about having to come back if the sack refilled again - did they do any blood work to figure out what kind of infection it was or what was causing it -- I guess I would keep up w/ the antibiotics for now and make sure your basking temps are good 95-100 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer and your using a good UVB NO coils please they are not any good --- and I would keep him warmer over nite like around high 70's low 80's to help w/ his immune system --- @Drache613 @AHBD

We did not do blood work, they just looked at fluid. It was 300 vs 800 so we started with just checking fluids and meds. Thanks for the advice. We have always had a coil for 6 years… should we change now? He’s moving around some this AM, just won’t eat on his own and has the fluid!

There seem to be a variety of reasons that I've read of over the years sometimes there is no conclusive diagnosis. Sometimes these go down on their own, other times they persist. Google this topic here and you'll get some different answers. Tracie should be on later, too and might be able to offer suggestions.

We do not have a screen on top of the 60 gallon tank that’s why we didn’t have a tube. We have four lights 2 for heat and 2 uv, I can buy a screen and tube after work. Thanks again!

Let me know when you get the uvb your going to need a T 5 no T 8's you can leave the screen off and set the 24" fixture width wise on tank

Hello,

How is your dragon doing, has the beard swelling gone down?
Which antibiotic is he receiving & what is his dose?
I am not sure what could have caused this but we do see this fairly often on here. Could he have injured his beard
or fallen on it in any way?
Let us know how he is doing.

Tracie

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
