Hi guys

I am a new beardie owner and need some help. Fyi have other lizards just a first beardie. So my guy is second hand from a for sale ad. He came in a sand enclosure that had dried poo on his log and not so clean sand. Since I've got him he's been increasing his appetite. But his poo looks like this. He only goes once a week and I warn you it's gross!! And can clear the house of people for smell. I'm trying to figure out how to get a photo attached from my phone

Please get rid of the sand ASAP-- it harbors bacteria and is not very sanitary --- use paper towels for now --- my guess is hes got parasites and will need a fecal test done by a vet --- please take it to them NO ENEMAS --- they often end in disaster ---- please go over your lighting in the tank --- UVB is it a coil or tube and basking temps how are you taking them NO Stick ons they are inaccurate

It won't let me upload a photo (did refresh etc no go). I'll have to try it from a computer.

Also I should have been slightly more clear. The first thing I did was get rid of the sand, and he gets a.bath at least once a week (absolutely HATES them so I don't do it too often, like flailing around and puffing up etc).

I'll get a photo as soon as I can.

What did you get for a UVB? No coils please- did you get a digital probe thermometer? You need a bright white basking bulb that keeps temps 95-100 for an adult dragon----- stick ons are inaccurate---- what size tank? What is his diet?

10 watt florescent UVB. Basking is around 100F, measured with a digital thermometer. His tank is one he came in about 50 gallons (I'm evaluating bigger options. That being said he pretty much doesn't move in his tank. Just sticks to one place). He eats salad, cabbage, Romain, carrots, apples and worms. Loves his worms. Doesn't love crickets. At all. Let's them die in the cage.

Please get rid of the coil UVB --- they are a health hazard and cause all kinds of health issues --- you need this for a UVB -- these are considered the best on the market and at this point your dragon is getting little to NO UVB --- you want a 24" fixture for your tank now and it will work on the one you go to next as well get a 24" fixture like this https://www.petmountain.com/product/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-high-output-terrarium-hood PLEASE GET THIS ASAP--- or he will stop eating all together -- he needs UVB to absorb/ synthesize his calcium and the coil is inadequate -- him not moving tells me he may have MBD---
Your basking temps are good as long as your getting the correct temp if your using a hammock for a basking decor piece the IR will not read correctly off of it -- I would recommend you get a digital probe 2 of them one for the cool side of your tank and one for the basking side of the tank --- when you get the UVB post back on here and we will help you place it -- distance and placement is crucial for the bulb --
Please do not feed any more cabbage-- what is the salad? What is the worms? Here is a nutrition website for you ignore the kale thing its a great staple feeder http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html
Please order him some dubia roaches from here www.dubiaroaches.com -- he needs a staple feeder and worms are not a staple feeder ---- are you dusting any of his food? Calcium D3 or vitamins w/ beta carotene? Please dust the insects not the salads --- Please post pics of the dragon so we can see him -- the poop consistency has alot to do w /the UVB --- it doesnt look very good and the diet and UVB is going to help straighten it out -- but the UVB is a priority at this time --

I'll do a bit more research on the links you provided me. But a few things to note. I always dust his worms with calcium and D3 vitamin. Here is a photo (several! lol). Also I can't get Dubia roaches because I live in Canada and they are illegal. Any other staple suggestions?

Lastly. Is it a girl?! When I got him, they told me it was a male but these white egg looking things were in the tank. I haven't seen any more but are they eggs?! (last photo)

There are no pics -- please see if the ones you downloaded are there click on XIMG at the top of the message box if they come up they are downloaded - then click on the pic it will come up in the message box w/ a bunch of letters and numbers thats the pic - when you hit submit they will come up as a pic -- here are some websites to get some other staple feeders -- BSFL or silk worms - the BSFL are real small so you would need to feed like 50 - 75 at a time DO NOT DUST THEM - silk worms are spendy and hard to find at times -- https://www.thewormlady.ca/

Yes those are eggs --- please discard them if she was not bred they would be infertile eggs --- you have a female-- if she starts digging frantically again set up a dig box for her you can use this
LAYBOX
potting soil that doesn't have any type of chemicals or fertilizers in it, mixed with sand, etc. Be sure it is at least 10-12 inches deep & that the mix is damp enough to where it will hold up to her making a burrow but not sopping wet to have standing water
Please get her on a good diet -- what type of substrate do you have her on? And get the UVB changed out ASAP as well --- she cannot absorb / synthesize the calcium shes getting and she needs that its a MUST w/ her laying eggs - they need extra calcium when laying eggs -- I posted all the info for you in my earlier post --- is she on the floor?

I'll repost in a few days. Need a chance to research and review the links you sent me. On a curious note about the egg laying. She didnt dig before. Just stayed on this giant log the other owners had in the tank and released oggs from it. They rolled to the ground into the substrate. Nothing about digging. And she layed those the first couple days I had her.

Her substrate now is nothing. I don't like it. Hard to clean up. She has a lino floor covering the glass.

Put some paper towels down- that's better than nothing- you can get some textured NON adhesive shelf liner--cut to the size of the tank and insects can't get underneath- look at Walmart or your local home improvement store

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
