Ok no more meal worms please--- they are too hard on babies stomachs-+ we need to see white urate- the poop looks good so he's not impacted- please make sure he's hydrated- I would offer salads that are rinsed before serving- make sure the insects are hydrated and gut loaded- the rinsed salads will give moisture- what is or was his diet?

Underneath there was white urate. Ok no more meal worms.
Hes definitely hydrated, having his fluids from the vet as well as some plain water tonight.
He usually (reluctantly) has greens (kale, beets, parsley) veggies and treat fruits, meal worms, morio/wax worms. Refused Dubia roaches and crickets.

If hes passing large amounts like this would it be able to get past the 'blockage' the vet said is there?
Does it look like parasite poo? No real smell to it at all.

Could his problems be due to his diet?x

Parasites usually make the poop smell really bad -- and yes diet is key here
here is a website for nutrition ignore the kale thing its a good staple feeder
http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html
wax worms are really fatty so I would limit those and hes hooked on the treat worms ---the BSFL / morio worms are good -- those are a good staple feeder -- do not dust those they are calcium enriched
and yes I would think he would be able to pass what ever is in there now w/ the good pooping hes doing- the water will help as well --

I just took my Spikeyboo to the vet today and had a fecal sample. She had runny poop and smelled bad, very very lethargic barely opens her eyes, not eating or drinking. Sample shows she has parasites Coccidia. Perhaps you need a fecal sample too. She’s on antibiotics now for21days. They also hydrated her and put her on some protein.
They said Gotta throw everything out of her cage and make her a house from cardboard and lay newspapers down. I have to change daily until this parasite is gone hopefully after 21 days. I have to bathe her for 10min daily as well to help her stay hydrated.

How she got this from what I think is that she recently pooped in her water bowl something shes never done and must have drank the water. Of course I cleaned it as soon as I saw it but unfortunately not soon enough. That is my best guess.

Thank you and from what I have read he has the symptoms of parasites (lethargy, dehydration, mucus stools) so I'm trying to get him into NEW vets today.
No fecal sample was originally taken so will push for this. Sp pleased your girl got the help she needed x

Tiny bit more alert this morning. Looking out the window after his fluids.

Planning on making him a slurry today as he took the pureed apple so well. Also got new probiotics and vitamins on the way

Hello,

I hope he gets to feeling better. Did you get some slurry/food into him at all?
Let us know how the vet appointment went, if you were able to get him into see one.
Parasite levels, if high, can definitely affect their appetites & moods. Be sure to keep him
a little warmer over night until he starts feeling better.

Morning

We are waiting on a specialist vet. Have sent stool pics over and explained everything. So hard to find anywhere close by we live in a village in the countryside.

He had pureed apple with manuka honey last night and just ate some butternut squash and pureed apple. Will do an insect and greens slurry if he tolerates that.

Thank you

I think you need to change vets right away and get a fecal sample. Your berdie may have a parasite called coccidia. Somehow he got contaminated with its poop that’s how they get parasites. Your berdie needs antibiotics right away! Diarrhea is a clear sign of a parasite.
I’m going thru the same thing with my berdie, look up coccidia and u must decontaminate everything ASAP!

Hello,

How is your boy doing today?
Did you hear back from the vet regarding the pictures that you sent over to him? It is very
difficult to find a vet, in any location anymore, it seems like.
Let us know how things are going.
I am glad to hear you were able to get some food into him!

Good morning.
I didn't hear back from the vet re the xrays but they did arrange an appointment for Monday, couldn't see him today which is what I wanted.
He's doing ok, pretty much the same. Offered him insects this morning but he wasn't interested. He's still having the watery stools, no mucus since that one on Friday night.
Is it imperative I get insects into him? Hes had a few mouthfuls of soft veggies in a week now, I really need to get his energy levels back up. Would a slurry inc the insects be enough?

He's back to keeping his eyes closed alot of the time too unless roused.
I've been treating his eyes with a wash as they are quite sore.

Is it normal for him to gape every so often even when not under his heat lamp?

Poor guy, just wish I knew how to help him x

Yes they can gape at different places in the tank -- and yes get some slurry of insects into him-- is he staying hydrated? Add water to your slurries so hes getting hydration too -- what were the pics you sent to the vet and why?

Ok will make some slurries. He's hydrated and passing lots of water with the stool.

He's being referred from vet to another (where he will have the op potentially) and they wanted to see the xrays he had taken and pictures of what hes passing.

I'd say he's slightly brighter than he was but I wish he would show a clear sign of feeling better

You will know -- he would be basking and active -- not being lethargic --

The vet said they can be slow to recover so I'm hoping that's the case. Hes had a good portion of slurry and a little wander, seemed more alert and eyes were a bit brighter.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
