hello! im new to owning any reptiles, my little baby apollo is my first ever. i've had him for around a month or so now and he's been going through his shed cycle for a week or so now. ive noticed a few things, and im scared it might be tail rot. the base of his tail (where it meets his body) is super dark right now, and the end of his tail has this sort of gradient that gets darker at the tip. nothing has pinched or hurt his tail-- im very careful when handling him and i make sure he's safe in his tank 24/7 (kind of a helicopter parent, i know haha)

im just scared for him, i dont know if this is a part of the process in order for apollo to shed his tail or if its something i should be concerned about. any help/answers are appreciated!

No tail rot there, the tail looks very healthy.

They can darken their tails when they are stressed or alert just like they can darken their beards and develop "stress marks" on their bellies. Just think of it as "stress tail" lol.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
