Hi Guys,

I live in the UK and now have a new baby Bearded Dragon. I have couple of general questions;

- I have been told that Arid- Earth mix is the best Substrate and to change every six months is that right?

- How can I tell if he/she is eating ok?

Best

Just a plain earth mix might get pretty smelly and harbor bacteria, especially after being pooped in. If you want that sort of setup, I suggest researching bioactive substrate which includes an ecosystem that can break down waste. Otherwise, it's easier to have a solid substrate like shelf liner that you can easily clean and sanitize.

Their appetites fluctuate so it's hard to give a specific amount they should be eating. As long as they are eating some, are active/alert, and their weight is steady or increasing, they are probably doing just fine.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
