Hi there, you can use a paper towel with diluted betadine to clean it [ soaked pretty well with the solution ] then put neosporin or raw honey on rather than Vaseline. Raw, unpasteurized honey is a powerful antimicrobial and is even good for the eye in case it gets in the eye accidentally.
