The plastic is off the bulb im not sure if this is a zilla brand one to be quite honest... so I should put it by her basking area ? Or leave it on the side its on thank you!

On the side? Do you mean back wall of tank or off toward the middle of tank or cool side of tank ? NO back wall it needs to be directly overhead
