How to treat wood

How do I treat wood from outside to put in my beardies cage like Driftwood or what I found outside in the woods Etc I'm kind of new to this so I don't want to bring anything outside in[Click image to enlarge]

I Usually rinse it off well and scrub it a bit to get anything off of the outside surface. Then bake it in the oven on low (250 or so) for 45 minutes or so to sanitize it.
