Hello,

Are you wanting to use the Mercury vapor bulb, correct?
Or, the T5 tube bulb 12%, which would be fine as well. It all depends on your tank setup
really for distance & placement of the lighting.
They are both terrific lights though. The tube bulb since it is a T5 high output bulb, would
be fine sitting on top of the screen as long as it is around 10 inches from him to be able to
penetrate through the mesh.

uv flood 12% uv-b d3+ desert

, the 24W is only 13" long cf the 24W T5 rated 12%UVB which is 22" long.
So the AU24R is more suitable for tanks under 20" long or wide , and rearing tubs ( about 120L to 150L capacity ) .

I suggest aiming for a UVB tube (or flood) about 2/3 the length of your tank.

I'd suggest getting the 24W t5 12% d3+ desert for a tank up to 24" tall and up to 48" long.

There's a 55W version that is 21.5" long.
