Hello! I'm quite new to both this forum, and to owning a bearded dragon. I got him from a Pet Smart about a month and a half ago (I know, bad decision, but he was in the tiniest tank. It was maybe 5 gallons, over half of it was taken up by a huge veggie dish, and he looked miserable.)
Judging from his size, I believe he is three-five months old (although it's possible his growth was stunted by the size of his tank.) He now inhabits a forty-gallon tank, and seems to be much happier, although he still doesn't like most of the members of the household.
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed some yellow spots pop up on his beard. They were very small, but they provoked me to do some research. I came to two conclusions: 1. It was some sort of disease or fungus. 2. It was natural coloring coming in on his beard.
We decided to wait a bit, and if things got more serious my parents would consider taking him to the vet.
Then, last week, he started to shed (his second one since I got him.) The yellow spots on his beard disappeared, leading me to believe they were the result of some kind of dye on one of the decorations of his cage. However, his legs became yellow tinged, and I saw some yellow on the spikes surrounding his back (on the border between his soft white underbelly and the harder shell-like skin on his back.)
His head has always been rather golden, so I'm still not sure if this is something to worry about. I figured I would go on here, as I had seen posts like this before while commencing research. Sorry to bother anybody, I just want to be the best parent I can be.
Here are some pictures (it may be harder to see the yellow tinge, sorry about that. He was being rather difficult.)
