This is how I cut Mari’s nails so she doesn’t freak out and get hurt.
1. Put her to bed by covering her with her beardie sized tortilla blankie (we both have matching blankets!)
2. Wait an hour
3. Trim her nails while she’s in a deep sleep (works every time. I think she’s freaked out by the idea of the clippers and so when she can’t see what I’m doing she’s not freaked out.)
Now if anyone knows how to get a very crazy cockatiel to let me clip her nails, please tell me. Kiwi basically has talons ?
Edit: Mari wakes up but she doesn’t flinch when she’s sleepy and confused.
