So I live in the uk I got my kit from a reptile company that teach to kids and he had everything you could poss want so I got a 40 tank with all the bits and off we go
Rex was happy for the first week and then he decided to not eat any salad any more so we stopped bugs he’s still a bit hit and miss the basking bulb we were given was Arcadia 75 watt and that has just blown so we got a pro rep 100 watt and he wasn’t happy at all he spent the whole time hiding under the log - it’s all confusing what I read and I’d like to know if people agree on what bulb to use please ?

Your basking bulb can be a bit flexible. You want bright white visible light and enough power to create a proper heat gradient. Shoot for surface temperatures of around 38-42 or so, mid 30s around that, and a cool side of around 24-26 or so. You may need to try some different wattages to find what works best in your enclosure. It's important to have accurate surface readings using a digital thermometer with a probe, or an IR temp gun.

Your UVB light is more important. It's well worth getting a high quality setup. Arcadia makes some of the best and that is readily available in the UK. Something like this should do the trick https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/arcadia-prot5-kit-desert-12/

That’s a comforting thought then that it’s good so I just need to play around with the bulb then

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
