Poop not normalPoop not normalHello. I’m honestly lost at this point. His poop isn’t normal again. He just got treated for parasites and coccidia in September and just parasites in June. I feel like I’m doing all I can to keep him healthy. I wash his greens and clean his tank with ammonia/water. It’s like every time I turn around he’s sick or something. Makes me feel bad. But he hasn’t been pooping his normal poop just tiny poops and I’ve attached a picture with what sometimes I will find. He’s still eating and still moving around fine. His temps are perfect and the uv bulb is still brand newish. Help me please[Click image to enlarge]

Re: Poop not normalGet some F 10 --- Zoo Meds Wipe Out or Rescue and deep clean his tank --- start there --- has his diet changed?

Re: Poop not normalHis diet has always been the same. And I will buy those!
Re: Poop not normalOk what about his UVB what are you using for a UVB? Brand and bulb coil or tube --- this plays a big part in the digestion process along w/ basking temps-- we always ask to rule them out --
Karrie
Re: Poop not normalUVB is the tube reptisun hood t5 24 and the temps are 110 basking and 78 cool side
Re: Poop not normalOk so good UVB - do you have it in the tank or on top of screen and your taking the temps w/ a digital probe thermometer?
Karrie
Re: Poop not normalOn top of the screen. He has a 40 gallon tank and the probe
Re: Poop not normalIf it's in top of screen the screen should be a wide holed screen not a fine mesh like a screen door- if it is it need to go inside the tank - the screen is blocking 30% of the rays-- distance inside 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor-- wide holed distance 8-10 inches from basking decor--

Re: Poop not normalThank you! I’ll figure out how to put it inside the tank
Re: Poop not normalIf you need help please ask

Re: Poop not normalHello. So his uvb is in the tank now and today he pooped and there was still blood. Like his poop looks find other than the blood. [Click image to enlarge]

Re: Poop not normalThat looks well hydrated, so it's not likely due to straining or dehydration. When was the last time a fecal test was done and came back clear? It's possible there is re-infection. Probably not urgent if he is acting OK, but worth having it checked out again.

Re: Poop not normalIdk if it’s cuz his poops are fat and and it’s ripping tissues and what not. And he just had his test cleared in September but I still made him an appointment. It’s on the 11th of this month.
Re: Poop not normalJust thought I’d share an update. He has coccidia again so they’re giving him the same medicine. He gets retested in two weeks and if he still has it they are going to do blood work to see if there’s something else that’s an issue for him getting parasites/coccidia so often. The doctor said it could also be stress that is causing this issue.
