Growing food in an Areogarden

I was recently gifted an older areogarden and I am very excited to not have to buy food through the winter if I can grow it inside my house. However I am concerned about the plant food/nutrients that you're supposed to add to the water. I've always read that you shouldn't use plant food or added nutrients in if growing your own food for your beardies. But I am unsure if anything will grow in thw areogarden without the plant food it doesn't use soil bust water to grow the food. Had anyone ever used one also used the plant food to feed your beardie from your areo?
I just don't want her to get sick from the plant food but would also like to grow her food so I can spend less money.

Hi there,

There is no issue with adding nutrients to your plants. Without them, your plants won't grow very well, and if they do grow at all, they won't be very nutrient dense anyways.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
