Slowing Down with Age?

Hey all! It's been a while since I've last posted but now I'm back with a question/slight concern about Dinraal, my 11 month old almost-1 year old dragon.

Is it normal for beardies to kind of slow down once they are nearing/ hit the 1 year old mark? We've noticed recently that Dinraal is not quite as active as he used to be. He's been waking up and just lounging on his bed for half the day until I finally have to bribe him over to his basking perch with fly larvae. Then he eats and just goes back to lounging on his basking perch, by his tree or on his hammock the rest of the day depending on how hot it is outside.

His basking temp is currently 100°F on his perch which I have read that's an appropriate temp for adult (or nearly adult? His birthday is September 28th so he's almost 1 year old). We have a 22" T5 reptisun uvb tube light for him (we are about to replace it come September with a new one) so I know his light set up is pretty good. We have been steadily decreasing the amount of bugs for him as he's been getting older (currently he's getting 10 large fly larvae twice a day) along with his salad so maybe he's just mad at us for that? He seems healthy and normal but I'd like other opinions. Thanks everyone!

Yeah they slow down a bit as adults compared to the little guys. That said, he is still very young and will likely have very energetic phases. Their energy levels tend to rise and fall with the seasons and it's unique to each of them. There could be months of hyperactivity followed by months of brumation and anything in between.
