Hi all. I am currently using a Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp for my beardies vivarium but it gives off a warm yellowish glow, I want the best for my beardie and have seen lots of posts here recommending a bright white basking bulb, I am in the uk and cannot seem to find one, If somebody here can point me in the right direction for a bright white light it would be much apperciated,

Thanks all

Dave

Honestly, I have the exact bulb Karrie posted (but in a 150w), and it is not "white". I think the bright white recommendation is to avoid those colored basking bulbs where the bulb itself is actually colored. (seasoned people please correct me if I'm wrong)
However, I don't have experience with your particular bulb, so maybe it is even more yellow than mine.
I have a picture of it posted in one of my threads if you want to see.

You're correct in that the bright white recommendation is to avoid the blue/purple/red colored bulbs for the most part. A lot of the bulbs have a yellow tint to them. Some of the mercury vapor bulbs look a bit greenish. I would avoid the neodymium coated bulbs (GE Reveal and some of the reptile brand bulbs that indicate this) since that distorts the light for our eyesight. The overall goal is to imitate sunlight so bright light with heat and UVB.

Hello,

That is a great basking bulb, your dragon will really like it.
Good luck with your tank setup!

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
