Hi! So, I was scrolling through pinterest and found this really cool cage setup (I tried to add the image, don't know if it worked out.) I wanted to do something like it, because I am not really good or into DIY. So, the plan was that I would get a ZenHabitat 4x2x2 enclosure and put it on the stacker that they have. Then, I wanted to make a ramp into a small enclosure that he can roam around in. He is able to get out, but for the times that I am doing stuff and can't watch him 24/7 I want to have a little area for him to go and still have fun. So, a couple of questions that I have are:

1. Does anyone have any better ideas for what to put the cage on so that it is above the ground but not too high that he could get hurt?? I have the money, but I would like to be able to spend less than my original plan.
2. Does anyone have any ideas for the gate that would keep him enclosed? Every gate I find is like a baby gate and way to high with holes that he could climb and escape with.
3. I am open to any ideas that anyone has that will help me successfully upgrade his cage to this idea, without me having to build a cage

Thanks

Here is the idea

So this is not your set up? Who ever did this was very clever --- you could use plastic crates to set the tank on then it would be low -- Zens are very light -- I am not sure what or where you would need the gate - it looks like they have enclosed the bottom all off so he cant get out which is good - maybe some others on here can throw some ideas out there for you

Yeah, I really liked the idea of the cage and the area in front. My main problem is just trying to figure out what kind of gate to use. I'm hoping others will have some ideas, because most gates are really tall. I have seen Zen Habitats and the reviews look pretty good. I also like how tall the cage is. I'm thinking that it will be a really nice upgrade for Apollo.

I am still not getting the gate thing your talking about--- there is no gate that I see on the example you posted

Sorry, I guess it's not really a gate. But the black "barrier" so that the bearded dragon doesn't escape, that's what I am talking about. There "barrier" is smaller, but I can't find anything like it.

Ok got it ---- it looks like plexi glass they are using - my husband says to get a hold of some aluminum frame and make your own - you would haft to cut it to the size you want it etc -- we were trying to figure out what they are using for the frames--

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
