I'm a first time beardie parent and just got him two days ago. Today I bought home some meal worms for dinner and my bearded dragon jumps off his basking rock after a worm, and cuts his leg open. So I desinfected my sink filled the bottom with warm water and iodine and let him sit in that for a few minutes before taking him out and applying neosporin with an iodine disinfected q-tip. There is no bleeding, but the wound is open and there is some swelling. If I continue to treat him everyday will he heal? He still has an appetite and ate soon after.

Hello,

Pictures would be helpful, just so we can see the severity of the cut. What did he cut it
on? I would remove the sharp object that he cut his leg on though, out of his tank so that
he doesn't hurt himself again.
You can also get some raw, unpasteurized or manuka honey to put on the wound as well,
but make sure at night you don't have any insects running around in his tank that would be
attracted to the honey.

Yes use the honey Tracie advised - and make sure NO crickets are in the tank - they will go straight to that leg -- the honey will prevent infection from starting in and start the healing process

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
