My baby girl Zeus who is 2 years old recently became egg bound after fully setting her up with a lay box, calcium, oxytocin over a month period.

We recently brought her in due to her black beard and stress marks.
She had also thrown up some of the greens she ate some days before so I’m thinking the eggs definitely had her backed up.

I am new to bearded dragons and Zeus is my first and I am so worried about her.
I have read multiple success stories of egg bound beardies who have had surgery.

Looking for any support, just hoping surgery goes well.

I am willing to help her in any way for Post care so if anyone knows anything that would be amazing.

Update**

Zeus has now finished with surgery and everything went as it should.
I am a little worried as they said she has a heartbeat but it is slow.
I’m praying and staying hopeful our little Zeus will wake up and we will have her back home in a couple days.

Due to all this COVID-19 it’s horrible that wasn’t able to be there whenever she was finished with surgery.. but the vet said they will update me in an hour to see how she’s doing.

The picture attached is right before we had brought her in 4-10-2020

@ABHD Thank you so much for the response it means the world to me. She’s Definitely a fighter

We talked with the vet who did the surgery today and said that the surgery went well but one of the eggs did crack and they had to clean out the yolk.

Haven’t heard from the vet since 1 PM, but that’s a good sign.
She has a heartbeat and I asked for them to update if anything changed in vitals.

Here is a pic of Zeus getting her daily bath before having any eggs in her belly.

Hello,

I answered on your other thread, too. I am really glad that you were able to get her into
surgery, because I don't think she would have made it otherwise. That was a lot of eggs
& then to have one rupture, she would have been even more critical.
That is good news you haven't heard anything so hopefully she is peacefully resting. As
AHBD said usually it is several days or longer for full recuperation. Just coming out of
surgery & the effects of anesthesia hopefully a day or two.

Keep us posted on her.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
