Hello all! I asked this question on Reddit and a user sent me a link to this forum! I’m wondering if my beardie Thor (named when I thought she was a boy) has tail rot? I’m mainly concerned about the tip of her tail. She’s my first bearded dragon so I’m unfamiliar with a lot of things. I got her from a pet store around 5 months ago, and her tail has looked like this for maybe 2 or 3 months now. She has no other symptoms: he has an appetite, no black beard, and she’s not irritable. And if this is tail rot, should I take her to the vet soon? Thanks in advance! Also this is my first post so I don’t know if I’m doing this right!

Hi there,

Unless there was actual damage done to the tail, tail rot is exceedingly rare. From the picture though, definitely no tail rot present :) The last half of their tails can darken and stay darker for a multitude of reasons, most of them completely harmless :)

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
Taking my beardie for a walk
