Does anyone know if there are any at home pinworm test and if they actually work? If so I would like to keep one or two on had as I cannot drive and my husband works odd hours and may have trouble getting to a vet just to drop off a stool sample.

Well, not that I'm aware of, but you could always invest in your own microscope to be able to perform your own fecal tests.

If there were such a thing, I would think it would still involve being delivered or sent to a lab for analysis/confirmation. An advantage to a standard fecal exam is that any other parasites (and possibly certain bacteria) would (should) also be found.

Depending on your situation & climate, mailing a sample to your vet might be an option. :dontknow:
It sure can't hurt to call, explain your situation, and ask the question(s). :)

The problem with that idea, is that a fecal test involves using a special solution, mixed with the feces to separate eggs out of stool, then it is examined under a microscope, or some tests centrifuge the sample prior to microscope. If you have not been trained, you won't know what you're looking at. You may get false results. Check with your vet to see if there is an after hours drop off location, (the vet I used to work at had a box near the door, we would collect any "gifts" left after hours in the am). This would possibly make it easier for your husband to drop one off?

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
