I just recently set up a bigger glass tank for my beardie Spartacus. I’m wondering what would be a good color to paint the outside of the tank? I was thinking maybe a sand brown color.

I wouldnt paint it all - what happens if you get it on there and dont like it ? I would use some nice magazine pages out of a desert magazine something like that and tape them on the back - that way you can always change it if you want to -- paint would be permanent-- just a thought

Painting it will be fine and if you decide you don't really like it ,all you have to do is get a window scraper with razor blades and take it off. I have done this many times on aquariums, it's not hard to do at all. You can get really creative with colors, just remember that the color you put on first is going to be the show piece.

Another option would be to paint rigid insulation or plywood/hardboard panels to attach to the sides & back. My enclosure is birch ply, so it's already sandy-colored, and I painted the ceiling and upper parts of the sides & back sky blue.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
